Microscopy-uk and Micscape Magazine
Last updated: Feb 2026
This area of The Quekett holds a legacy repository of Micscape Magazine and other resources once held on the web site named microscopy-uk.org.uk  created and maintained by David Walker & Maurice Smith. With its demise, we had permission from the two creators to become the custodian of all the resources and many articles written by amateur microscopists from around the world who contributed from 1995 to February 2024 and after. As so often happens with internet held data, the passing of time and the transferring of resources from one server to another can result in some links failing here. The Quekett are unable to correct such issues. This entire large collection of articles and resources are provided as is, and as originally passed to us from David Walker and Maurice Smith (Mol) to keep the suite alive for the future. Something they were unable to do. (More Information here.) An early interview with them is here.

Links at page footers may not have been corrected to be accurate on our server, so always use the index bar above or 'back' in your browser to return to mic-uk and micscape on here.

Ward & Whipple is still one of the best books ever published on Freshwater life.
